REMOTE TAQUILE: Lake Titicaca's Living Heritage

moneda
euros dollar soles

This is our A1 full day tour to Taquile! In case the speedboat is fully booked we will take our small group in a regular private boat. The advantage of this tour is that we bring you to the non-touristy side of the island and let you enjoy encounters with local families, examination of textile designs of Taquile, interpretation of the traditional clothing and way of life of people from Taquile.

If staying for overnight, the “comunero” guides assist you in finding paths leading to beautiful remote parts of the island. These include the pristine hide-away of the white-sand beach located on the island’s southern side. They also take you through an enlightening discovery of the essence of their local culture.

At least 15 families have organized themselves to provide home-stays, offering you the opportunity to experience “old-style” accommodation, excellent home-cooked meals and a bonfire experience for those who stay with them for one night.

Important note: At the conclusion of each program you are required to descend approx. 530 stairs to the main departure dock. We recommend that you consider any knee problems you may have or ask for more information about this descent.
